QWFC certifies farms against the Welsh Government’s Quarantine Unit (QU) Scheme standards. QU give farmers an alternative to the six day standstill rule. Details of the scheme and how you can join are included in the documents on this website. Please read them carefully, especially the scheme standards outlined in the Producer Manual.
You will need to return:
1. The application form
2. Map or plan showing the exact location of the quarantine unit
3. A QU biosecurity plan
4. Payment
You will require a separate County Parish Holding Number (CPH) for the quarantine unit. When the process of inspecting the QU is completed and we are ready to provide you with a certificate of compliance, QWFC will forward a copy of your application form to Welsh Government in order for them to supply that CPH number which we will forward to you with the QU certificate.
You also need to be aware that when the quarantine unit is in use, you may be inspected by the Animal Plant Health Agency (APHA). Please see the Producer Manual for details.
